Packaging Responsibilities:
- Inspect plastic containers for quality and defects
- Package finished products into boxes and stack them on pallets
- Count and pack lids and other components for shipment
- Label completed boxes and pallets
- Record production counts and complete basic documentation
- Move pallets using a pallet jack
- Insert towel wipes into plastic containers
- Perform general housekeeping to maintain a clean work area

Requirements for Packaging:
- Able to stand for extended periods (up to 12 hours)
- Able to lift up to 40 lbs
- Comfortable with repetitive bending, lifting, and hand movements
- Able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Strong attention to detail and quality
- No jewelry permitted on the production floor

Join a leading food-grade packaging manufacturer in Newton, IA in a Finishing Utility role! In this role, you'll support production by ensuring quality standards are met, keeping production lines running efficiently, and assisting machine operators with packaging and material handling. This is a temporary assignment expected to last through December, though it may end earlier depending on production needs.

Finishing Utility Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Support machine operators by keeping production lines supplied with materials
- Load cases into the auto packer and hand pack cartons as needed
- Perform routine quality checks to ensure products meet customer specifications
- Verify carton and case counts and ensure finished products are properly stacked and labeled
- Operate a powered industrial vehicle (PIV) to move materials as needed
- Maintain accurate production documentation following standard operating procedures
- Report equipment or quality concerns to supervisors immediately
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures

Finishing Utility Requirements:
- Previous manufacturing experience preferred, but not required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, repetitive production environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the shift
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Must follow all food-grade manufacturing and safety requirements, including PPE guidelines

Requirements for Metal Handler:

- Forklift experience is a plus

- High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required
- Ability to work overtime as needed

Entry Level Machine Operator Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. non-repetitively and 10–20 lbs. repetitively.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in extreme heat.
- Ability to perform basic mathematics.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow work instructions and directions.
- Fluency in English to read policies, procedures, and communicate effectively.
