Position Title: Wiring & Electrical Assembly Technician
Wage: $23.00/hour
Shift: 1st or 2nd
We are seeking a detail-oriented Electrical Assembly Technician in Houston, TX (77037) to support the construction, wiring, and installation of industrial electrical systems and equipment. This individual will work from technical drawings and specifications to assemble, wire, test, and troubleshoot equipment while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Wiring & Electrical Assembly Technician Responsibilities:
- Assemble and wire industrial electrical equipment according to engineering specifications
- Interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation
- Route, terminate, label, and secure electrical wiring and cabling
- Install electrical components including control devices, power distribution equipment, transformers, relays, terminal blocks, and automation hardware
- Fabricate and install conduit systems and cable management solutions
- Perform panel layout, mechanical assembly, drilling, fastening, and mounting of components
- Verify wiring accuracy and conduct functional testing of completed assemblies
- Maintain compliance with applicable electrical standards and company quality requirements
- Use hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Identify and report quality concerns, drawing discrepancies, or material shortages
- Support field installation, startup, commissioning, and service projects when required
- Maintain an organized work area and follow established safety procedures
- Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and production personnel to meet project schedules
Requirements for Wiring & Electrical Assembly Technician:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
- Previous experience in electrical assembly, industrial manufacturing, automation, controls, or related environments
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
- Experience using common electrical and mechanical hand tools
- Working knowledge of conduit installation and cable routing practices
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lift materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand, bend, reach, and perform physical tasks throughout the workday
- Technical school, vocational training, or apprenticeship experience preferred
- Familiarity with industrial controls, automation equipment, and electrical distribution systems preferred
- Forklift or equipment operation experience preferred
- Experience in manufacturing, fabrication, control panel assembly, or systems integration environments preferred
