Position Title: Welder
Wage: $26/hour
Shift: 2nd
Hours: 3:15pm-1:15am Monday-Thursday
QPS Employment Group is seeking a skilled and dependable Welder to join a growing production team in New Berlin, WI. This role is responsible for fabricating and assembling metal components using various welding techniques to meet strict quality and precision standards. The ideal candidate has a strong attention to detail, a commitment to safety, and experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This is an associate to hire opportunity on 2nd shift.
Welder Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Perform welding operations using MIG, TIG, and/or other welding processes based on job requirements
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work instructions
- Set up welding equipment and select appropriate materials (wire, gas, etc.)
- Fabricate and assemble metal parts and structures according to specifications
- Inspect welds to ensure quality, strength, and conformance to standards
- Grind, clean, and finish welded surfaces as needed
- Maintain welding equipment and perform basic troubleshooting
- Adhere to safety protocols and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Collaborate with team members, quality inspectors, and supervisors to meet production deadlines
- Maintain accurate production records and documentation
Welder Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required; welding certification preferred
- 1-3+ years of welding experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment
- Proficiency in MIG welding required; TIG experience a plus
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
- Strong attention to detail and quality standards
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Ability to lift up to 15-50 pounds and stand for extended periods
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
