QPS Employment Group is hiring a Material Handler for a company in Sussex, WI. This is an associate to hire opportunity.
Material Handler Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Ensure continuous production operation of packaging lines and follow company’s safety, quality and production procedures
- Ensure all proper paperwork and materials are used, including pallets, slip sheets, WIP paperwork, and finished skid labeling paperwork is documented accordingly
- Coordinate with Quality Assurance to ensure that all incoming and outgoing products meet quality standards
- Operate the forklift safely and efficiently and in accordance with plant forklift rules and regulations
- Perform safety checks on the forklift; log and report any safety discrepancies with the Production Supervisor
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for all team members, and make the Production Supervisor or lead aware of any equipment or personnel safety issues immediately
- Follow all aspects of the Lock Out Tag Out program
- Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) and Lean Initiatives as set forth by management
- Ensure that all finished goods are properly labeled and staged for shipping
- Maintain an accurate and detailed operator’s log
Material Handler Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of 6-12 months of sit-down forklift experience is a must
- Production experience preferred
- Proven problem-solving ability and good time management skills
- Experience working both independently and as part of a team
- Basic math and computer skills desirable
- Able to stand or sit for an 8-hour (or more) shift
- Able to handle frequent twisting, reaching, pushing, pulling, and bending
- Good hand dexterity and eyesight for visual inspection of part
- Must be able to drive a sit-down forklift and use a pallet jack
- Able to lift up to 60 pounds
