Position Title: Traffic and Logistics
Wage: $20.00 per hour
Shift: 1st
Hours: 7:00am-3:00pm
QPS Employment Group has a great Traffic and Logistics position available at a company in Rockford, IL. This is a 1st shift position with the opportunity for hire.
Traffic and Logistics Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Coordinates, maintains and follows up on all activities involved with delivering product and/or parts to and from customers or suppliers.
- Coordinates transportation arrangements to meet or exceed customer requirements or published schedules.
- Maintains current contracts on all approved carriers and alternates.
- Identifies potential problems by proactively monitoring conditions.
- Solves problems through personal involvement while incorporating and promoting a spirit of continuous improvement.
- Effectively utilizes resources to minimize waste, cost, or inefficiency among shifts.
- Must strictly adhere to published company I.S.O. guidelines and procedures.
- Maintains and turns in accurate, legible reports and/or data.
- Becomes familiar and learns the operational procedures of all facets of this position.
Traffic and Logistics Requirements:
- Must be able to follow oral and/or written instructions.
- Must be able to clearly convey all necessary information to other managers or employees to ensure smooth transitions between departments and/or shifts.
- Basic computer skills required for data entry and documentation.
- Excellent attention to detail and reliability in following quality standards.
- Must be able to read and speak English at an intermediate / fluent level.
- Must be able to work the scheduled hours and be in accordance to the attendance policy.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 2-3 years of experience in a logistics, procurement business, or relative production environment is crucial.
- Physically able to stand for shift, reach, bend, twist. Regularly carry or move 30 lbs., semi-regularly carry or move 60 lbs., in a safe manner. Work in a physical, fast paced role.
- Scheduled overtime is required.
- Must be able to follow attendance policy.
- Must be able to work well with others having a positive, motivated, and responsible approach.
- Must be able to sustain the preemployment process, interview process and training process.
- Must be able to read and speak fluent English.
