Position Title: Welder / Fabricator
Wage: $28.00 - $35.00/hour
Shift: 1st
Hours: 7:00am - 5:00pm (Monday - Thursday)

QPS Employment Group has a great opportunity available for a Welder / Fabricator at a company in Kansas City, MO. This is a direct hire position for 1st shift. Apply now!
Welder / Fabricator Responsibilities:
- Develop layout and plan sequence of operations for fabricating and assembling metal products, applying math skills and knowledge of metal
- Locate and mark bending and cutting lines onto workpiece, allowing for stock thickness and welding shrinkage. Operate required equipment to prepare material for welding (saws, rollers, benders, drill press, etc.
- Verify conformance of work to specifications, using measuring instruments to evaluate accuracy to blueprints
- Use a computer to enter job information and maintain work records
- Read final manufacturing drawings to identify and setup proper welding equipment to use
- Preheat workpieces preparatory to welding or bending
- Position, align, fit, and weld together parts to blueprint specifications
- Examine workpiece for conformance to quality specifications using required tools and templates
Requirements for Welder / Fabricator:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- At least five years of welding experience
- Vocational training; knowledge of production processes and quality control; 5+ years tig welding experience; welding certificate a plus
- Ability to understand weld symbols shown on the drawings and perform the work
- Welder certifications would be beneficial or the ability to obtain these certifications
- Ability to stand for duration of shift
- Basic mechanical knowledge of tools and machines and their uses
- Good hand-eye coordination
