Position Title: Maintenance Technician
Wage: $26-$30/hour + 10% shift differential
Shift: 3rd
Hours: 10:00pm-6:30am
QPS Employment Group is hiring a Maintenance Technician for a company in Madison, WI. This is a direct hire opportunity.
Maintenance Technician Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and regulatory requirements established by company
- Perform maintenance and repairs on all factory machinery and test equipment
- Conduct preventative maintenance on equipment and facility systems
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems
- Report issues related to quality, equipment, processes, or materials to the Maintenance Supervisor
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
- Perform facility repairs, grounds maintenance, and snow removal as needed
- Assist with janitorial duties and general facility upkeep when required
- Support preventative maintenance programs and continuous improvement initiatives
- Complete additional duties as assigned
Maintenance Technician Requirements:
- Ability to read and interpret policy manuals, safety rules, operating instructions, and technical documentation
- Ability to read and understand electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical schematics and blueprints
- Strong troubleshooting skills across electrical, pneumatic, mechanical, and hydraulic systems
- PLC knowledge preferred but not required
- Ability to follow written, verbal, and diagram-based instructions
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain quality standards
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Flexibility to adapt to changing tasks and priorities
- Frequently stand for extended periods
- Frequently lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds
- Regularly lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 pounds
- Occasionally lift up to 75 pounds
- Regularly walk and move equipment or materials
- Sit, bend, twist, and climb ladders or stairs
- Reach overhead or to full extension
- Operate tools and equipment requiring upper body strength
- Vision abilities include close vision and depth perception, peripheral vision, ability to adjust focus at varying distances
- Ability to hear speech and warning signals up to 70 dB, with or without assistance
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
- Frequent exposure to extreme heat, vibration, and moving mechanical parts and hazards
- Occasional exposure to wet or humid conditions
- Moderate noise levels are typical
