Job Description
Position Title: Laser Operator
Wage: $54,080-$62,400/year
Shift: 1st
Hours: 7:00am-3:30pm
We are seeking an experienced Laser Operator to operate and maintain laser cutting equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for keeping production moving, ensuring parts are cut accurately, and preparing completed parts for the next stage of production. This is a direct hire opportunity in Kansas City, MO.
Laser Operator Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Set up and operate CNC laser cutting equipment
- Monitor machines throughout the cutting process to ensure quality and accuracy
- Work with automated loading and unloading systems
- Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and production specifications
- Inspect finished parts and identify errors before they move to the next operation
- Troubleshoot machine or part issues and make necessary adjustments
- Unload, organize, and stage completed parts for welding or other production areas
- Perform basic machine maintenance and keep the work area clean and organized
- Maintain production pace while meeting quality and safety standards
- Work independently and manage multiple jobs or priorities as needed
Laser Operator Requirements:
- Previous experience operating CNC laser cutting equipment required
- Experience with Mazak, Bodor, or similar laser equipment preferred
- Experience working with automated material loading/unloading systems is a plus
- Ability to read blueprints and understand part orientation and specifications
- Comfortable using basic measuring tools to verify part quality
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to recognize mistakes and make corrections before parts move to the next stage
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with minimal supervision
- Previous sheet metal or fabrication experience preferred
