Job Description

Position Title: Heavy Equipment Assembler

Salary: $41,600-$49,920/year

Shift: 1st

Hours: 5:00am-1:30pm

QPS Employment Group is hiring a Heavy Equipment Assembler for a company in Kansas City, MO. This is a direct hire opportunity.

Heavy Equipment Assembler Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Perform necessary assembly and disassembly of body and equipment, such as removal of fasteners, welded components, tie downs, removing hydraulic hoses, and all other assembly/disassembly related activities within company guidelines
- Build and customize heavy and light duty vehicles with a variety of parts to specs 
- Maintain accurate records of work performed on each vehicle daily as required to establish labor hours for vehicle costs 
- Move parts into position, manually or with hoists, cranes, or forklifts
- Understand drawings/schematics and directions to determine material requirements and task sequences
- Maintain tools, equipment, and shop area for the purpose of ensuring the availability, and functioning of, required tools and equipment within a safe work area
- Wire electrical components to an assortment of vehicles
- Plumbing hydraulics on an assortment of vehicles 
- Read and understand work orders
- Ensure a timely turnaround of vehicles
- Perform other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit

Heavy Equipment Assembler Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- Must have previous experience working with heavy equipment
- Must be able to successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen and background check
- Maintain punctual attendance in accordance with schedule and company's attendance schedule
- Keep work area clean, safe, and organized
- Produce a product that is up to Custom Truck quality standards 
- Provide a positive, team-oriented attitude
- Basic computer navigation and software skills needed for onboarding and daily timekeeping 
- Must be able to read and comprehend written instructions
- Focus in a fast-paced environment 
- Preferred 2+ years of related automotive or vocational truck operation and maintenance experience
- Strong communication skills preferred
- Proven commitment to Safety preferred
- Majority of work is performed in a shop and outside
- Must be able to work while exposed to bright lights, extreme temperatures, loud noise, dust, gas and/or other fumes
- Must be able to work overtime as needed
- Occasionally lift, carry, push, and/or pull; some climbing and balancing on ladders and platforms of heights above 42 inches, significant stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling throughout a 10-hour day, and up to 50 hours per week
- Must be able to safely operate carts, forklifts, hand trucks, and other equipment of such nature
- Ability to walk and stand on concrete and/or uneven surfaces for at least 10 hours per day
