Job Description

Position Title: Fluid Power Technician

Wage: $72,800-$83,200/hour

Shift: 1st

Hours: 6:00am-2:30pm

We are seeking a skilled Hydraulic Assembly Technician to join a growing fluid power manufacturing team in Muskego, WI. This hands-on position is responsible for assembling, fabricating, testing, and installing hydraulic power units, pneumatic panels, manifold assemblies, and other custom fluid power systems. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, experience reading hydraulic schematics, welding and fabrication skills, and the ability to troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical systems. This role offers a great opportunity to work with custom industrial equipment in a clean, team-oriented environment.

Fluid Power Technician Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assemble hydraulic power units, pneumatic panels, manifold assemblies, and fluid power equipment from engineering drawings and work instructions
- Install hydraulic hose, tubing, pipe, fittings, valves, pumps, motors, cylinders, manifolds, filters, reservoirs, and related components
- Read and interpret hydraulic schematics, assembly drawings, blueprints, and work orders
- Test hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems to verify proper operation and document test results
- Fabricate equipment frames, brackets, supports, and mounting components
- Perform welding, drilling, tapping, sawing, grinding, bending, and other fabrication tasks
- Complete minor electrical wiring and electrical component installation
- Prepare equipment for painting and perform touch-up painting when required
- Operate shop equipment, including forklifts, overhead cranes, welding equipment, pipe threading equipment, and power tools
- Maintain accurate production and testing documentation
- Assist with inventory, organization, and maintaining a clean work area
- Perform occasional on-site installation and service of hydraulic equipment at customer locations
- Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA regulations

Fluid Power Technician Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- 3+ years of mechanical assembly or hydraulic equipment experience
- Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on assembly experience
- Ability to read and interpret hydraulic schematics and assembly drawings
- Experience assembling hydraulic systems, power units, manifolds, or industrial machinery
- Welding and metal fabrication experience
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, measuring devices, and shop equipment
- Basic understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Preferred fluid power or hydraulic systems experience
- Preferred basic electrical wiring experience
- Preferred forklift and overhead crane experience
- Preferred experience with ERP systems or manufacturing software
- Preferred industrial manufacturing or custom equipment assembly experience
- Preferred hydraulic hose fabrication experience
- Preferred customer installation or field service experience
- Experience working with the following: Hydraulic Power Units (HPUs), Hydraulic Manifolds, Hydraulic Pumps, Hydraulic Valves, Hydraulic Cylinders, Hydraulic Motors, Pneumatic Systems, Hydraulic Hose & Tube Assembly, Pipe Threading Equipment, Overhead Cranes, Forklifts, Welding Equipment (MIG/TIG/Stick), Drill Presses, Band Saws, Grinders, Hand & Power Tools, Multimeters, Assembly Fixtures
