Position Title: CDL Driver
Salary: $58,240/year
Shift: 1st
Hours: 5:00am-1:30pm, 9:00am-5:30pm
QPS Employment Group is hiring a CDL Driver for a company in Kansas City, MO. This is a direct hire opportunity on 1st shift.
CDL Driver Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Drive truck or equipment to assigned location
- Pick up parts and equipment from customers and vendors, coordinating with Facility Manager and other staff
- Maintain telephone and email communications with supervisor to receive instructions
- Perform routine maintenance on trucks or equipment such as pre-trip inspections of truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water
- Working knowledge and understanding of safety requirements and practice them
- Complete DOT logs at the time of delivery and requests recipient’s signature
- Clean inside of truck; wash vehicle a minimum of once a week
- Turn in all paperwork and undelivered products
- Maintain professional appearance and represent the company by professional demeanor, being courteous with all those coming into contact
- Report accidents to Manager, etc. immediately, obtaining names, license numbers, and other details
- Issue or obtain customer signature on receipt for pickup or delivery of product
- Will be cross-trained to be able to help out in other departments
- Participate in all available training programs
- Operate forklift
CDL Driver Requirements:
- Must have valid CDL A Driver’s license
- Minimum 2 years of driving experience of a delivery truck, box truck, etc.
- Ability to operate a standard/manual transmission
- Will be required to do a DOT physical/drug test to receive a DOT medical card
- Ability to work as scheduled with punctual attendance, plus any additional hours/days necessary in order to meet business demands
- Majority of work performed on the road, in the shop, and outside
- Must be able to accommodate overnight stays if driving hours are exceeded in a normal shift
- May be exposed to bright lights, varying temperatures, loud noise, dust, gas, and/or fumes
- Regularly drive, sit, stand, and walk
- Occasionally climb stairs and enter and leave truck cab, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear
- Regularly move about the vehicle
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus
- Ability to walk and stand on concrete and uneven surfaces during the course of the workday
