Job Description

Position Title: Maintenance Technician

Wage: $30-$36/hour

Shift: 1st

Hours: 7am-3pm

This is a direct hire role.

Maintenance Technician Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Start machines and observe mechanical operation to determine efficiency and detect problems
- Inspect or test damaged machine parts and mark defective areas or advise supervisors of repair
needs
- Install, replace, or change machine parts and attachments, according to production specifications
- Dismantle and reassemble parts for repair, using hand tools, chain falls, jacks, cranes or hoists
- Read work orders and specifications to determine machines and equipment requiring repair or
maintenance
- Inventory and requisition machine parts, equipment, and other supplies so that stock can be
maintained and replenished
- Transport machine parts, tools, equipment, and other material between work areas and storage,
using cranes, hoists, or dollies
- Clean machines and machine parts using cleaning solvents, cloths, air guns, hoses, vacuums or
other equipment
- Familiar with Lockout/Tagout procedures
- Other duties as assigned
- Monitor, maintain, service, and record machine coolant tanks and bulk tanks as needed
- Maintain oil levels on various machines
- Process shop waste - cardboard, garbage, wood, etc.
- Monitor, separate, record, and ship all recyclables
- Monitor waste oil and wastewater for removal by outside service
- Maintain maintenance cleaning equipment
- Transport machine parts, tools, equipment, and other material between work areas and storage,
using cranes, hoists, or dollies
- Clean machines and machine parts as needed using solvents, cloths, air guns, hoses, vacuums,
or other equipment

Maintenance Technician Requirements:
- High school diploma or General Equivalency Degree (GED) required
- 3+ years of related experience in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to communicate effectively in a team-oriented environment
- Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly
- Ability to adapt to change in the workplace
- Must be able to work productively with minimum supervision
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to use standard office equipment
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite programs, i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
- Regularly required to verbally communicate
- Frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, feel or handle objects, tools or controls; and reach with hands or arms
- Occasionally required to stand and walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl
- Must be able to walk or stand on concrete for up to 4 hours at a time
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds without assistance
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision; color vision; peripheral vision; depth perception and the ability to focus
