Position Title: Maintenance Technician
Wage: $28-$30/hour Depends on experience
Shift: 12-Hour (Day, Night) + Weekend on-call rotation
Hours: 6:00am-6:30pm, 6:00pm-6:30am
A well-established food manufacturing facility in the Houston/Stafford area is seeking a Maintenance Technician with strong electrical experience. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production and facility equipment to minimize downtime and ensure safe, efficient operations. This is a direct hire opportunity offering long-term stability in a manufacturing environment.
Maintenance Technician Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and electronic maintenance on production equipment
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, including 115V & 220V single phase; 208V, 230V, and 480V three-phase
- Execute preventive maintenance and recommend schedule improvements
- Respond to emergency and unscheduled equipment repairs to minimize downtime
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical controls, wiring, and lighting systems
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and documentation
- Follow OSHA, GMP, and food safety standards
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
- Support the Maintenance Manager with maintenance department activities
Maintenance Technician Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- 5+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong electrical troubleshooting experience (required)
- General mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Ability to lift/push up to 100 pounds
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Availability to work 12-hour shifts, including nights and weekend on-call rotation
- Food manufacturing experience preferred
- Maintenance license or technical certifications preferred
- Experience with PLCs, hydraulics, pneumatics, compressors, pumps, and HVAC preferred
- Welding, machining, or metal fabrication experience preferred
- Forklift or lift truck experience preferred
