QPS Employment Group has a great Maintenance Technician position available at a company in Freeport, IL. This is a 3rd shift, direct hire position.
Maintenance Technician Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on industrial machinery and equipment.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
- Repair or replace defective components using hand and power tools.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth operations and minimal disruptions.
- Adhere to safety protocols and company policies at all times.
Maintenance Technician Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience in industrial maintenance, with knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting preferred.
- Familiarity with powered industrial trucks (PIT) or forklifts preferred.
- Welding and fabrication experience preferred.
- Standing and walking 100% of the time.
- High school diploma/GED.
- Completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience preferred.
- 2-4 years of manufacturing maintenance experience. Strong mechanical, pneumatic, fabrication and industrial skills preferred.
