Position Title: Paint Supervisor
Salary: $52,000-$72,800/year
Shift: 1st
Hours: 6am-2:30pm
Direct hire opportunity in the Kansas City area! If you're ready to take the leap into a supervisory role but still have the eye for painting, we're looking for you. Our partners in Kansas City, MO is looking for their next leader to oversee operations in the facility while also working on the production floor with the team! This is a small shop environment that offers tons of growth and development. Once you start, you'll fall in love and be there forever! This role is open due to the recent retirement of their department manager. This is a direct hire opportunity.
Paint Supervisor Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Lead and supervise a team of 2-5 painters and powder coaters, sandblasters, ensuring efficient workflow across multiple coating lines
- Apply various liquid coatings, including cookware-like finishes, with attention to consistent thickness and surface quality
- Support production by performing surface preparation, masking, and finishing tasks
- Operate equipment such as spray guns, blast cabinets, and forklifts, while ensuring proper equipment maintenance
- Conduct quality inspections of finished parts, verify production counts, and complete necessary documentation.
- Perform general facility and equipment maintenance, including welding, grinding, and metalwork as needed
- Manage shipping and receiving operations, including packing and shrink-wrapping finished parts
- Train and develop team members, fostering a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement
- Communicate operational needs and performance updates to upper management
Paint Supervisor Requirements:
- Strong experience in liquid coating application, preferably with automotive or similar coatings REQUIRED
- Background in Tephlon coatings is REQUIRED
- Ability to read and follow coating manufacturer PDS (Production Data Sheets)
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
- Prior leadership experience leading small teams is preferred
- Possess a quality-focused mindset, strong attention to detail, and excellent attendance
- Willingness to learn new skills and perform support tasks such as blasting and maintenance
- Physical activities include lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally and performing repetitive tasks
- Equipment used includes spray guns, blast media, forklift, sanding tools, and other metalworking tools
