Job Description

Position Title: Shipping and Receiving

Wage: $18/hour

Shift: 1st

Hours: 6am-2pm

We’re hiring for a Shipping and Receiving role for a company in Fort Atkinson, WI. The Shipping and Receiving associate will report to the Shipping Supervisor. Shipper/Receivers identify, stage, verify, track, and record all incoming and outgoing shipments. Shipper/Receivers stage finished goods and load and unload trucks, as well as perform incoming quality inspections and process MRBs in coordination with strategic sourcing. This is an associate to hire opportunity.

Shipping and Receiving Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Stage, check, label/load finished product to specified storage areas and/or carriers; process packages
- Receive, identify, verify counts and audit incoming materials, products, and components to ensure conformance to requirements
- Understand part numbers and part usage
- Confirm identifying information and count, weigh, or measure items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, purchase requisitions or other records
- Use forklift, hand trucks, or overhead cranes to convey, move, or hoist materials to proper department, areas, or trucks
- Unpack, examine, and route incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages, and correspond with shipper to rectify damages and shortages; receive and process all defective parts returned for replacement or credit
- Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies
- Perform Standard Work by following Work/Operator Instructions/training
- Report defective materials or questionable conditions per the MRB (Material Review Board) process
- Meet or exceed department’s production efficiency goals
- Understand and practice 5S (sort, set in order, shine, standardize, and sustain)
- Complete tasks as directed by manufacturing schedules with minimum supervision
- Support and participate in assignments in other work areas, as workload demands change
- Participate in continuous improvement activities
- Complete all required record documentation
- Submit maintenance requests when required
- Use ERP system (IFS) to create shipments, run reports to confirm product status, perform scanning operations, create shipment documents, etc.
- Process RMA (Return Material Authorization) goods per internal and external customer requirements

Shipping and Receiving Requirements:
- Stand for duration of shift (8-10 hour days) 
- Able to reach, bend, twist, and pull parts as needed 
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 30lbs occasionally lift 50lbs
- Strong team player, proven ability to work effectively with others at all levels 
- Ability to work with Microsoft Office applications
- Experience in forklift and/or overhead crane
- Reliable and good attendance 
- Able to work individually
- Knowledge of customer standards and understand specific work instructions
