Position Title: Shipping Clerk
Wage: $19.00-$20.00/hour

Hours: B 6:00am-4:00pm Tuesday-Friday, A 6:00am-4:00pm Monday-Thursday, C 7:30am-3:30pm Monday-Friday
We’re seeking an experienced Shipping Clerk to join a stable manufacturing team in the Fairfax District. Shipping Clerk Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Examine shipment contents and compare with shipping documentation to verify accuracy, condition, and temperature sensitive materials are acceptable and document findings; report material shortages or shipment problems to Supervisor or to Assistant Facility Manger, in the absence of the Supervisor
- Report shipping and receiving information on required paperwork
- Move raw material and finished goods to and from storage or production areas and load docks using material handling equipment
- Maintain finished goods inventory in warehouse using a first-in, first out (FIFO) system
- Secure loads to prevent damage and shifting of product during transportation
- Answer phone calls and direct calls to appropriate parties or take messages
- Perform general office duties, such as ordering supplies, and maintain office files and documents
- At the Kansas City, Kansas facility, shipping duties occasionally include hazardous waste
- Maintain a clean work area as well as assisting in general housekeeping of the warehouse
- Open, sort, and distribute incoming correspondence, including faxes and email; process outgoing mail
- Freight billing
- Invoicing
Shipping Clerk Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of work experience in warehousing operations and/or the shipping and receiving function
- Proficiency with obtaining shipping rates and transportation logistics
- Proficient with computers and computer software, including Microsoft Office products
- Knowledge of management information systems for enterprise resource planning (SAP desired)
- Knowledge of transportation industry, partial packaging logistics and international shipping
- Basic mathematical skills, verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills
- Experience in manufacturing environment required
- Experience operating a forklift
- Must be a team player and work with a sense of urgency
- Must be safety cautious
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to stand for a full shift, walk, stand, bend, lift, stoop, turn, twist, push, pull, raise arms above shoulders and head, and operate machinery
- Paint smell in the warehouse
