Responsibilities:
Install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot structured cabling systems including Cat5e, Cat6, and Cat6A
Perform data cabling installations in commercial, industrial, and enterprise environments
Pull, route, dress, and organize cabling using proper installation standards
Build out and maintain MDFs, IDFs, telecom rooms, racks, patch panels, and cable management systems
Install cable pathways including J-hooks, ladder racks, cable trays, and conduit
Perform cable labeling, documentation, and quality control inspections
Test and certify cabling installations using industry-standard testing equipment
Troubleshoot cabling issues and identify solutions efficiently
Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, and low voltage drawings
Work independently while maintaining high-quality installation standards
Communicate professionally with customers, project managers, and team members
Travel throughout Southern Texas when applicable
Work overnight shifts when required based on project needs
Requirements:
3+ years of commercial structured cabling experience preferred
Must be a seasoned data/structured cabling technician with strong hands-on installation experience
Experience installing, terminating, and testing:
Cat5e
Cat6
Cat6A
Fiber optic cabling (a plus)
Strong understanding of telecommunications and data infrastructure
Experience with MDF/IDF buildouts, racks, patch panels, and cable management
Knowledge of cable testing equipment and certification processes
Ability to troubleshoot cabling and network infrastructure issues
Must have reliable transportation
Must have basic hand tools and PPE:
Hard hat
Safety glasses
Gloves
Hi-vis vest
Steel-toe boots
Willingness to travel throughout Southern Texas as needed
Ability to work overnight shifts when applicable
BICSI, OSHA, Lift Certifications, and manufacturer certifications are a plus
