Position Title: Scanner
Wage: $20.00/hour
Shift: Days and Nights (must be flexible to work on weekends as needed)
Hours: 6:00am-6:00pm or 6:00pm-6:00am
We are currently seeking candidates for our Utility Scanner position. Qualified candidates must have a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance. This role requires flexibility to work weekends as needed and involves working outdoors in various weather conditions. This is a temporary opportunity in Kansas City, MO.
Scanner Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
As a Utility Scanner
- Drive own vehicle to storage lots
- Scan vehicle vin numbers and compare it to the drop off sheets, along with monitor damages
- Bay, dekey, and perform yard organization while maintain accountability for results
- Facilitate clear and professional communication between shifts, including detailed messages and updates; communicate with haulers, drive team, and management; use app for communication
- Handle on-the-spot challenges, including missing keys, unscanned loadsheets, and yard discrepancies
- Perform yard counts, communicate with haulers, and drive or walk around lots daily; may travel to other lots throughout their day
As a Driver
- Safely operate personal vehicle following traffic laws and safety policies
- Monitor and enforce safety protocols, along with documenting and escalating issues to management, including performance concerns, yard updates, and equipment needs
- Conduct pre/post-trip inspections and report any issues
- Ensure safe employee entry/exit and follow assigned routes
- Maintain a clean vehicle and report incidents promptly
Scanner Requirements:
- Work is expected to be completed in any weather conditions, and you should be prepared to work accordingly within said conditions
- Must arrive and leave on time, with mandatory clocking in and out
- Must have reliable personal transportation.
- Full accountability for all events during shift
- Personal liability for any vehicle used; cautious driving recommended
- Efficient use of downtime, staying alert and prepared
- Timely and accurate completion of work as it arrives
- Ability to manage tasks quickly and effectively within shift
- Attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in all responsibilities
- Work under various weather conditions and adjust to varying workload
- Clear and proactive communication regarding availability and job-related inquiries
