Position Title: Sanitation
Wage: $21.50/hour
Shift: 3rd
Hours: 11:00pm - 7:00am
QPS Employment Group is seeking a reliable and safety-focused Sanitation Technician to join a great food manufacturing team in Ixonia, WI. This role is responsible for cleaning, sanitizing, and restoring production equipment and work areas to meet strict food safety, quality, and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate has industrial sanitation experience, understands food manufacturing environments, and is committed to maintaining a safe and compliant workplace.
Sanitation Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Perform cleaning and sanitation of production lines, equipment, and facility areas according to established sanitation procedures and food safety standards
- Follow all company safety, sanitation, and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) policies to maintain a safe work environment
- Ensure all production lines and work areas are properly cleaned, sanitized, and restored for the next production shift
- Identify and report any food safety, product quality, equipment, or employee safety concerns to management immediately
- Apply Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures during equipment cleaning and maintenance activities to ensure safe operations
- Safely operate high-pressure water hoses, foaming systems, and industrial sanitation equipment
- Properly handle, dilute, label, store, and use industrial cleaning and sanitizing chemicals in accordance with safety guidelines
- Maintain compliance with OSHA regulations, PPE requirements, hazard communication standards, and company safety protocols
- Document sanitation activities accurately and complete required records and checklists
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to sanitation, food safety, and operational efficiency
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in food manufacturing, food processing, industrial sanitation, or industrial cleaning environments
- Experience performing sanitation on processing equipment, conveyors, fillers, mixers, packaging lines, or production machinery
- Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, food safety programs, and sanitation best practices
- Understanding of chemical safety, sanitation verification processes, and regulatory compliance requirements
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Prior industrial sanitation experience required
- Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers, supervisors, and management
- Basic math skills, including addition and subtraction
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and food quality
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Physical Requirements:
- Frequent standing and walking throughout the shift
- Regular bending, twisting, reaching, pushing, and pulling
- Frequent lifting and carrying of up to 25 pounds
- Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work in wet, humid, hot, cold, and chemical-use environments
- Ability to wear required PPE, including safety glasses, gloves, boots, hearing protection, and sanitation-related protective equipment
