Powder Coater Responsibilities:
- Clean, degrease, sandblast, or sand parts to remove rust, defects, or imperfections before coating
- Use spray guns or powder dispensers to evenly apply powder coatings in a controlled spray booth environment
- Place coated items in curing ovens and monitor the process to ensure the coating hardens properly
- Examine finished products for uniformity, defects, and adherence to client specifications
- Safely operate powder coating machinery, paint booths, and conveyor systems
- Follow safety protocols to prevent exposure to fumes and maintain a safe work environment
Requirements for Powder Coater:
- Knowledge of powder coating techniques, spray equipment, and surface preparation methods
- Strong attention to detail and precision in applying coatings and inspecting finished products
- Ability to stand, lift, and maneuver parts for extended periods
- High school diploma or GED is typically preferred; vocational training or apprenticeships in surface preparation and coating are advantageous
- Prior experience in paint booths, batch painting, or conveyor line painting; You will be expected to do a powder coating test before hire
