Hours: 8:00am-4:00pm, 4:00pm-12:00am or 12:00am-8:00am
QPS Employment Group has a great Packer position available at a client in Philadelphia, PA. This is a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift position with the opportunity to become a permanent employee and a union member.
Primary Duties for Packer:
- Package products according to standard operating procedure, work process and batch record specifications in preparation for shipping
- Assemble components, load machines, construct / label boxes, palletize material, maneuver pallets using a pallet jack and perform product changeover duties
- Ensure quality compliance of the products being packed by inspecting for defects such as legible and accurate codes, effective seals, appropriate quantity, etc.
- Remove defective product into the proper location for rework or disposal
- Alerts appropriate personnel to any potential quality issues discovered and stops the line as needed
- Rotate through all packing functions and perform at expected levels
- Complete cleaning functions
- Follow company and facility safety policies, procedures and guidelines
- Handle hazardous materials using appropriate or mandatory safety gear
- Complete required cGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practices) and/or other paperwork
Packer Requirements:
- TABE (Test for Adult Basic Education) requirements met at approved grade level for position
- Basic math and reading skills
- Able to follow instructions and respond to management direction
- Able to work independently and/or part of a team
- Able to adapt to changing work environments
- Able to work overtime or weekends as needed
- Strong attention to detail
- Able to lift up to 25lbs
