QPS is looking for 2nd shift candidates to work at this well-known company in Ames! You must be able to work a rotating 2-2-3 schedule doing 12-hour shifts! With room to grow, this is a great way to get your foot into the door!
Packaging Responsibilities:
- Perform startups, checking silos, shakers, check weigher, code date, glue pot and metal detectors
- Take carton tare weights
- Perform size/format changes to machines based on production schedule
- Transport cartons and cardboard to the compactor for recycling
- Load and unload compactor
- Monitor carton, bag and case codes to ensure correct product name, format number, clock time, UPC number and product code
- Complete quality checks on carton, bags and case to ensure bag seal, glue seal, proper weight and metal detector is functioning property
- Communicate with forklift driver to replenish necessary supplies
Requirements for Packaging:
- Able to lift up to 50lbsÂ
- Able to stand for duration of shift
- Able to work in a non-climate controlled areaÂ
- Able to bend, twist, pull and crouch throughout shiftÂ
- Able to read/write in English
