Position Title: Packager
Wage: $15.00-$18.60 per hour
Shift: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, Weekend
Hours: 7:00am-3:00pm (Mon-Fri); 3:00pm-11:00pm (Mon-Fri); 9:00pm-7:00am (Mon-Thurs); 6:45am-7:00pm (Fri-Sun); 6:45pm-7:00am (Fri-Sun)
Be part of a team that plays a hands-on role in preparing essential medications for patients. This position keeps production flowing, quality on point, and safety at the forefront. This position is located in Rockford, IL and has the opportunity for hire.Â
Packager Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Package products according to SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedure), WP’s (Work Process) and batch record specifications in preparation for shipping. Typical tasks include, but are not limited to: assembling components, loading machines, constructing boxes, taping, labeling, removing damaged shippers, palletizing, maneuvers pallets using a pallet jack, performing product changeover duties.Â
- Ensure the quality compliance of the products being packed by inspecting defects such as legible and accurate codes, effective seals, appropriate quantity, etc., in order to ensure all specifications are met.Â
- Remove defective products into the proper location for rework or disposal.Â
- Alerts appropriate personnel to any potential quality issues discovered and stops the line, as needed, until further direction is received.Â
- Rotates through all packing functions and performs at expected levels.Â
- Completes cleaning functions including responsibilities during line clearances, cleaning equipment and areas, and 5S (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain method) around the plants to ensure a safe, organized work environment.Â
- Follows all company and facility safety policies, procedures and guidelines. Handles hazardous materials using all appropriate or mandatory safety gear. Immediately reports potentially hazardous situations or conditions.Â
- Accurately completes required cGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practices) and/or other paperwork in a legible manner including signing the roster, scanning work order with badge number, production documentation. Verifies and reviews for accuracy as required.Â
- Supports & expected to work as a team player as a Packer. Â
- Assist in coaching & mentoring employees and temporary staff members to new Packer role.Â
- This position may require overtime and/or weekend work.Â
- Knowledge of and adherence to all company, cGMP, and GCP (Good Clinical Practices) policies, procedures, and rules.Â
- Attendance to work is an essential function of this position.
Packager Requirements:
- TABE (Test for Adult Basic Education) testing requirements met at approved grade level for position.Â
- Basic mathematical skills.
- The ability to satisfy routine social demands and limited work requirements. The ability to read simple prose, in a form equivalent to typescript or printing, on subjects within a familiar context.Â
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems that involve only a few concrete variables in standardize situations.Â

- This position has  the following special vision requirements including Close Vision, Color Vision, Ability to focusÂ
- Work is performed in areas with moderate risk or discomfort that may require special safety precautions, such as wearing protective clothing or gear for 3/4 of the day and up.Â
- Work near moving mechanical parts for 3/4 of the day and up.Â
- The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate.
