Position Title: Material Handler / Order Picker
Wage: $16.00-$17.00/hour
Shift: 1st, 2nd
Hours: 7:00am-3:00pm, 3:30pm-12:00am
QPS Employment Group is looking for dependable, detail-oriented Material Handlers/Order Pickers to join a warehouse team. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately picking, packing, and preparing school uniform orders for shipment while maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient warehouse environment. This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced setting, meet productivity goals, and maintain a high level of accuracy. Don’t miss this temporary role in Oak Creek, WI.
Material Handler / Order Picker Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Pick customer orders accurately using pick tickets, scanners, or warehouse management systems
- Pull school uniforms and related products from warehouse inventory
- Pack orders according to company standards to ensure products arrive safely
- Verify item quantities, sizes, colors, and product numbers before packing
- Prepare shipments by labeling, wrapping, and staging completed orders
- Load and unload incoming and outgoing shipments
- Replenish inventory in pick locations as needed
- Organize merchandise and maintain a clean, safe, and orderly warehouse
- Perform inventory counts and assist with cycle counting
- Report inventory discrepancies, damaged merchandise, or shipping errors to a supervisor
- Follow all warehouse safety procedures and company policies
- Meet daily productivity and quality expectations
- Assist in other warehouse duties as assigned
Material Handler / Order Picker Requirements:
- Previous warehouse, order picking, shipping/receiving, or material handling experience preferred but not required
- Experience using RF scanners is a plus
- Ability to read and understand basic English
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable attendance and punctuality are required
- Ability to stand and walk for the entire shift (8-10 hours)
- Frequently lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures
- Manual dexterity to handle products, scanners, and packing materials
- Fast-paced warehouse environment
- Repetitive tasks while maintaining quality and accuracy
- Overtime and occasional weekend work may be required during peak school uniform seasons
- Preferred strong work ethics and positive attitude
- Preferred excellent attention to detail
- Preferred ability to work efficiently while maintaining accuracy
- Preferred good communication and teamwork skills
- Preferred flexibility to assist in multiple warehouse departments as business needs change
