Job Description
Position Title: Material Handler
Wage: $16/hour
Shift: 1st
Hours: 6am-2:30pm Monday-Friday
QPS Employment Group is hiring a Material Handler for a company in Cedar Falls, IA. This is an associate to hire opportunity.
Material Handler Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Utilize handheld scanners to receive and distribute supplies throughout the warehouse
- Organize stock and merchandise within the warehouse by properly storing goods and supplies in their designated locations
- Verify all incoming shipments are accurate and maintain quality control by ensuring all goods are in excellent condition
- Monitor and report any missing or damaged inventory to management immediately
- Properly load items to be shipped according to company standards to ensure they will arrive in excellent condition
- Utilize forklifts and pallet jacks safely to retrieve and process shipments
Material Handler Requirements:
- Experience with a forklift and an RF Scanner
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds of product consistently (25% of shift)
- Ability to operate a forklift after completing onsite forklift training
- Must be able to stand for long periods, walk, bend, lift, and carry
- Proficiency in inventory software, databases, and hand-held scanners
- Must have 1-2+ previous years of sit-down forklift experience
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality
- Excellent attendance is a must
