Position Title: Machine Operator
Wage: $22.00-$28.00/hour
Shift: 1st
Hours: 7:00am-3:30pm
QPS Employment Group is hiring a Machine Operator for a company in Kansas City, MO. The ideal candidate for this role has previous experience operating press brake, stamping press, auto welders, or CNC metal fabrication equipment in a manufacturing environment. Candidates will need to possess strong mathematical skills and confidence in reading and interpreting blueprints, work orders, and engineering drawings to produce precision metal components. Machine Operator Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Set up and operate press brake and other machinery to bend, form, and shape metal sheets and components according to engineering specifications and work orders
- Safely load and unload materials onto the machines
- Monitor the production process to ensure precision, accuracy, and consistency of fabricated components
- Perform regular quality checks using measuring tools (calipers, gauges) to verify dimensional accuracy and adherence to specifications
- Ensure proper material usage and minimize waste through efficient cutting and forming techniques
- Make adjustments as needed to maintain product quality and consistency
Machine Operator Requirements:
- High school degree or equivalent
- Forklift Certified (or the ability to obtain certification)
- Press brake operation and programming are a plus, but not required
- Ability to consistently lift up to 75 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods throughout the shift
- Working knowledge of basic hand tools, as well as fabrication tools and machinery
- Reliability, hardworking, and a desire to learn
- Ability to accurately read prints and drawings
- Ability to read a tape measure down to 1/32 inches
- Good basic math skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to accurately count and verify parts quantities
