Job Description

Position Title: Machine Operator

Wage: $27.05/hour

Shift: 3rd

Hours: Monday-Friday 10:45pm-6:45am, Saturday 6:45pm-12:45am or until sanitation is complete (based on production and staffing needs)

As a key player in the client company’s operation, you’ll operate and adjust equipment, ensure product excellence through continuous quality checks, and help maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work environment. This is a direct hire opportunity in Marathon, WI.

Machine Operator Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Operate, monitor, and maintain cheese packaging equipment to meet quality and production standards
- Make necessary machine adjustments to ensure proper weight, seal integrity, labeling accuracy, and packaging appearance
- Operate box erectors, case sealers, and labeling equipment
- Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), SQF standards, and all safety policies
- Perform routine quality and food safety checks throughout the shift
- Maintain accurate production and quality documentation
- Operate and understand box erecting, case sealing, and labeling equipment
- Move pallets and finished products as needed (forklift experience preferred)
- Perform general housekeeping, sanitation, and cleanup of work areas and equipment
- Assist in cross-training and support team members as needed
- Provide directions for team members when necessary to complete daily production goals

Machine Operator Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Prior manufacturing and/or food packaging experience required
- Forklift experience is a plus
- Mechanically inclined with strong troubleshooting skills
- Ability to complete pre-employment assessments successfully
- Strong math and problem-solving abilities
- Good communication and organizational skills
- Able to give and receive constructive feedback professionally
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Dependable and flexible to work overtime, weekends, or other shifts when required
- Maintain a professional image with customers, coworkers, supervisors, and the public
- Stable work history with at least 1 consecutive year at a previous employer is strongly preferred
- Work performed in a clean, food-grade manufacturing environment
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, and climb stairs throughout shift
- Frequent lifting up to 50 pounds and occasional lifting up to 75 pounds
- Overtime paid at time and one-half for all hours worked over 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week
- Climate controlled at approximately 60°F
