We’re seeking an experienced Laser Operator in Kansas City, KS to join QPS in a stable, associate-to-hire opportunity with great hours, a convenient location, and strong benefits upon hire. This role is ideal for someone with a solid work history, a positive, team-focused attitude, and hands-on experience with laser cutting and Mastercam programming who takes pride in producing precise, high-quality parts while upholding strict safety and quality standards.
Laser Operator Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Operate and monitor laser cutting machines to produce parts according to specifications
- Program and edit jobs using Mastercam software
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Perform routine quality inspections to ensure accuracy and compliance with specifications
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Follow all safety procedures and company guidelines
Laser Operator Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Vocational training or relevant on-the-job experience preferred
- Experience operating laser cutting machines
- Proficiency in Mastercam programming
- Ability to read and interpret prints and technical drawings
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality
- Basic math skills
- Ability to follow established work practices, safety guidelines, and regulations
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Ability to stand for extended periods (8-10 hour shifts)
