Position Title: Line Operator
Wage: $20.00 - $21.00/hour
Shift: 1st or 2nd
Hours: 6:00am - 2:30pm or 3:00pm - 11:30pm (Monday - Friday)
QPS Employment Group is seeking a Metal Finishing Line Operator for a company in Elk Grove Village, IL. Line Operator Responsibilities:
- Adhere to production safety standards and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Operate process equipment, including but not limited to, hoists, compressed air dryers, vapor degreasers, controllers, timers, ion exchange and precision measurements tools
- Attach fixtures to load bars, ensuring racks are secure and accurately placed with consideration to part characteristics and position/depth in the tank
- Process loads in accordance with precise specifications by frequently and effectively communicating with the Line Supervisor and other operators
- Ensure product is accurately processed to the specified technique
- Identify and proactively notify the Line Supervisor of problems such as excessive oil, corrosion, deep and blind holes, areas that may air pocket etc.
- Coordinate loads with the Line Supervisor to optimize tank time usage
- Complete applicable data records and documents to sustain traceability of work performed
- Document and maintain accurate information logs
- Proactively monitor solution levels in tanks and communicate any potential issues to the lab
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, training, and audits as necessary
Requirements for Line Operator:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Previous leadership experience in production, racking, or chemical processing preferred
- Basic computer skills with understanding of Microsoft Office applications
- Good math skills
- Bilingual in Spanish/English is a plus
