Job Description

Position Title: Inventory Control Specialist

Wage: $19.00 per hour 

Shift: 1st

Hours: 7:00am-3:00pm

QPS Employment Group is seeking a detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist for a leading contract food manufacturer specializing in dry food blending and packaging solutions. This position plays a key role in maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring packaging materials and finished goods are properly tracked throughout the manufacturing process.

Inventory Control Specialist Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Track and document the movement of packaging materials and finished goods using the company's ERP system and required paperwork.
- Coordinate with warehouse personnel to ensure production lines receive the correct materials in a timely manner.
- Verify material quantities, lot numbers, and item numbers before they are issued to production.
- Process returned materials by completing return labels and ensuring accurate inventory documentation.
- Receive, bin, and organize inventory using RF scan guns while following established inventory control procedures.
- Safely move, lift, carry, and stack materials manually or with approved material handling equipment.
- Enter finished goods transactions into the ERP system and assign appropriate staging locations.
- Perform routine inventory audits and cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy and report discrepancies to management.
- Generate inventory usage reports and distribute information to the appropriate departments as required.
- Maintain organized, accurate, and up-to-date inventory records and documentation.
- Follow all food safety, quality, sanitation, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) requirements.
- Report quality concerns, damaged materials, or inventory discrepancies promptly.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Perform other inventory, warehouse, and production support duties as assigned.

Inventory Control Specialist Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, shipping and receiving, or materials management preferred.
- Experience working with ERP systems, warehouse management systems (WMS), or inventory software is preferred.
- Experience using RF scanners or handheld inventory devices is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and recordkeeping skills.
- Basic math skills with the ability to accurately count, reconcile, and track inventory.
- Ability to read, understand, and complete inventory documentation accurately.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Basic computer proficiency, including data entry and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and perform frequent standing, walking, bending, and material handling throughout the shift.
