There are openings on both B Shift and C Shift at an automotive manufacturer in Kansas City, MO, with starting pay ranging from $17.25 to $17.45 per hour. Employees are eligible for a pay increase after successfully completing the 90-day probationary period.
This is also a unionized company, meaning wages and benefits are negotiated by the union during contract negotiations, which are scheduled to take place at the end of the year.
Forklift Operator Responsibilities:
- Obtain forklift license and certification from client on first day on sit down forklift
- Operate Hilo truck
- Move merchandise to storage, properly documenting locations and/ or scanning locations and product
- Operate forklift in a safe manner
- Ensure implementation of quality and safety procedures
- Work with other associates to set up machine, and stack, pack, mark and transport finished items
- Maintain clean and orderly work area
Requirements for Forklift Operator:
- Previous forklift experience
- Previous exposure to warehouse environment preferred
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good hand-eye coordination
- Previous experience in automotive or electrical assembly a plus
- Able to regularly lift up to 35lbs
- Able to sit or stand for entire shift
- Able to reach and grab with hands and arms
- Able to grasp steering wheel and controls for the entire shift
- Able to stoop, bend and kneel as needed
