Position Title: Forklift
Wage: $17/hour
Shift: 2nd
Hours: Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday 12pm-8:30pm; Thursday 2pm-8:30pm; Friday 12pm-10:30 + Mandatory OT
QPS Employment Group is hiring a Forklift Operator for a company in Janesville, WI. The Forklift Operator is responsible for operating material handling equipment for the purpose of moving, locating, relocating, stacking, and counting merchandise. The Operator is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the forklift and may also be required to perform order filler or order checker duties in addition to his or her own. This position is responsible for operating sit-down and/or clamp forklift equipment. This is an associate to hire opportunity.
Forklift Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Stack and store merchandise in designated areas using a forklift, clamp, and push-pull equipment
- Unload inbound shipments safely and move product to storage locations
- Pull and prepare products for shipment
- Ensure that the exact number and type of product is loaded and shipped
- Perform picking duties in an efficient manner meeting customer service standards
- Move product from staging and/or storage areas into trailers
- Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods
- Maintain appropriate records and report to guarantee inventory control and security
- Assist in physical inventories
- Ensure proper stock rotation
- Conduct cycle counts as requested
- Excel knowledge plus general computer knowledge
- Basic safety understanding in operating equipment
- Report safety concerns to management in a timely manner
- Report inventory discrepancies to inventory control team and assist in resolution
- Complete inspection form prior to operating equipment
- Use RF scanning equipment to ensure accuracy of inventory
Forklift Requirements:
- At least 3 months of forklift experience and/or using warehouse distribution equipment
- Stand/walk for up to 10-12 hours
- Lift and/or pull 50lbs without restriction
- Regular bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching both below the waist and above the head
- Walking in the DC and around area with great frequency, facilities are over a quarter mile in length
- Work in environments with variable noise levels, lighting conditions, and temperature variation; and able to access all areas of building without limitations
- Ability and availability to work irregular or extended hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Able to get Forklift Certified
- Attention to detail, excellent customer service skills, and basic math skills
