Position Title: Finish Mill Associate
Wage: $18/hour
Shift: 1st
Hours: 6am-4:30pm Monday-Thursday, Overtime Friday
QPS Employment Group is hiring a Finish Mill Associate for a company in Waterloo, IA. This is an associate to hire opportunity.
Finish Mill Associate Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Set up, operate, and maintain woodworking machinery and equipment
- Use hand tools such as drills, hammers, saws, and sanders to fabricate and repair wooden doors
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders for construction or repair projects
- Plan and sequence cutting, shaping, and assembly operations efficiently
- Measure, mark, and layout dimensions on lumber and materials
- Select and match materials based on color, grain, and texture specifications
- Sand, scrape, and prepare surfaces and joints for finishing
- Ensure all work meets quality standards and safety requirements
Finish Mill Associate Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods (up to a 10-hour shift)
- Ability to use hands and arms for handling, fingering, reaching, and operating tools
- Ability to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and lift materials
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship
- Basic math skills and knowledge of measuring tools and techniques
