Position Title: Carpenter
Wage: $22.00 - $26.00/hour
Shift: 1st
Hours: 6:00am – 2:30pm

Carpenter Responsibilities:
- Construct, erect, install and repair structures and fixtures of wood, plywood and wallboard
- Study blueprints, sketches or plans for information pertaining to type of material required, such as lumber or fiberboard and dimensions of structure to be fixed or fabricated
- Select type of lumber or other materials
- Prepare layout
- Mark cutting and assembly lines on materials
- Shape materials to prescribed measurements
- Assemble cut and shaped materials and fastens them together with nails, screws, dowel pins or glue
- Verify trueness of structure with plumb bob and carpenter's level
- Erect framework for structures and lay subflooring
- Build and install partitions and cabinet work
- Apply shock-absorbing, sound-deadening and decorative panel to walls and ceiling
- Fit and install prefabricated window frames, doors, doorframes, weather stripping, interior and exterior trim, and finish hardware such as locks, kick plates, etc.
- Account for materialsÂ
Requirements for Carpenter:
- Good communication skills
- Able to read and interpret documents such as layouts, blueprints, sketches, engineering drawings and manufacturing instructions
- Mathematical skills
- High School Diploma, plus some specialized training
- One to three years of manufacturing experience
- Basic carpentry skills preferred
- Experience in construction and cabinet carpentry preferred
- Able to lift up to 70lbs occasionally
- Able to use power tools and hand tools
