CNC Setup & Programmer Responsibilities:
- Working from instructions to define tooling, fixtures, and machine arrangements
- Mounting and securing tooling and holding fixtures, setting stops, calibrating fixtures to appropriately reference points
- Manually cycling through operation sequences to check fixtures, working position, tooling, clearance, and speed/feeds
- Selecting proper tooling settings/adjustments
- Manually programming short runs/special jobs
- Setting up and instructing operators and diagnosing operating difficulties
- Making periodic operation checks to assure proper machining operations
- Adjusting machines to correct deviations and program specifications, adjusting bring tolerances within specifications
- Studying operations and equipment used in production processes and recommending new methods and/or equipment to increase efficiency
- Coordinating operational process sheets and quality checking requirements
- Assuring cost sheets are current and reflect appropriate production methods/times
- Using variety of precision measuring instruments
Requirements for CNC Setup & Programmer:
- High school diploma
- Prior knowledge/experience with CNC machinery
- Experience with Mori Seiki machinery
- 5+ years of CNC machine setup preferred
- Understanding and editing Fanuc G-code
- Prior horizontal set-up experience required
- Basic math/reading ability
- Ability to stand/walk 10+ hours
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds
