Business Development Representative Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Make outbound sales calls using a dialer to engage prospective customers and schedule qualified sales appointments
- Provide exceptional customer service through professional, prompt, and clear phone and email communication
- Gather customer and shipment information to identify needs and make the best routing recommendations
- Accurately enter customer, shipment, and appointment details into the company's systems
- Schedule pickup and delivery appointments as needed
- Prepare Bills of Lading (BOLs) and other required shipping documentation
- Meet weekly appointment-setting goals while maintaining high-quality customer interactions
- Track shipments to help ensure on-time pickups and deliveries
- Serve as the primary liaison between customers and carriers to help ensure successful shipments
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, call notes, and appointment outcomes
- Consistently complete back-to-back outbound calls while maintaining a positive, professional attitude
- Demonstrate persistence and resilience when handling objections and rejection in a fast-paced sales environment
- Work collaboratively with the sales team to support business development efforts
Business Development Representative Requirements:
- Highschool diploma or GED required
- 1 year of previous customer service, inside sales, call center, or appointment-setting experience required within the last 2 years
- Comfortable making high-volume outbound calls using an automated dialer
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
- Comfortable using multiple computer systems and entering accurate data
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently
- Able to remain professional, positive, and persistent through frequent rejection required
- Must be available to work during business hours and remain available until weekly performance goals are achieved
- Ability to remain seated at a desk for extended periods while making outbound calls
