Position Title: Mold Maintenance Technician
Wage: $25-$35/hour
Shift: 1st
Hours: 6am-4:30pm Monday-Thursday
QPS Employment Group is hiring a Mold Maintenance Technician for a company in Hartland, WI. This is a direct hire opportunity.
Mold Maintenance Technician Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Perform mold maintenance with a primary focus on bench work and repair; no press setup involved
- Conduct routine inspections and perform repairs to minimize downtime and maintain performance
- Disassemble, clean, polish, inspect, repair, and reassemble molds
- Replace inserts, slides, and other mold components as needed for production
- Diagnose and repair hot runner systems, valve gates, electrical controls, and hydraulic components (cylinders/manifolds)
- Perform precision bench work, including fine-tolerance repairs and component restoration using laser welding and manual machining (milling, grinding, turning)
- Conduct bench testing for water leaks and evaluate electrical functionality
- Maintain proper cleaning, organization, and storage of mold components
- Develop and support preventative maintenance programs to extend tool life and prevent failures
- Maintain accurate documentation of repairs, maintenance, and improvements
- Monitor and manage inventory levels of spare and replacement parts
Mold Maintenance Technician Requirements:
- 2+ years of mold maintenance experience in an injection molding environment
- Experience with hot runner and valve gate systems
- Ability to safely operate forklifts and overhead cranes for mold handling
- Skilled in operating manual machining equipment, including drill press, surface grinder, milling machine, and lathe without supervision
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
