Job Description

Position Title: Maintenance Technician

Wage: $30-$40/hour Based on experience

Shift: 1st

Hours: 6am-3:30pm, 45-hour workweek; Overtime optional, Saturdays available

QPS Employment Group is hiring a Maintenance Technician for a company in Lake Geneva, WI. This is a direct hire opportunity.

Maintenance Technician Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Perform routine to advanced maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair on production equipment
- Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and PLC systems
- Assist with equipment installation, rebuilds, and retrofits
- Coordinate with OEMs and contractors for equipment support and service
- Generate and execute preventive maintenance programs
- Maintain facility systems including building structure, electrical, mechanical, and HVAC
- Lead or support maintenance projects with minimal supervision
- Fabricate and weld guards, fixtures, and machine components (MIG, TIG, Stick, plasma cutting, etc.)
- Perform minor plumbing repairs (threading, sweating, gluing, pipe installation)
- Identify and order parts, manage spare parts inventory, and maintain maintenance logs
- Utilize CMMS and internal systems for work orders and documentation
- Support Lean Manufacturing and 5S initiatives
- Follow all safety protocols including LOTO and PPE requirements
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment

Maintenance Technician Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years of experience required; 5-7 years preferred
- Strong troubleshooting skills across electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Experience with PLCs, automation, and reading electrical schematics preferred
- Ability to operate forklifts and scissor lifts
- Qualified to work with electrical systems up to 480VAC
- Experience with LOTO and Arc Flash safety procedures
- Proficient with hand tools, measuring instruments, and diagnostic equipment
- Ability to use shop equipment (saws, grinders, manual lathe, surface grinder, etc.)
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, email, documentation systems)
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize and work independently
- Ability to stand, walk, climb, and work in confined spaces
- Frequently lift up to 30 pounds; occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work at heights using ladders or lifts
- Exposure to indoor and occasional outdoor conditions
