Blending Lead Responsibilities:
- Weigh ingredients; handle bulk cartons, sacks, loaded carts and pallets
- Blend and package tea and botanicals; operate Blending Machine and Mini Mixer
- Execute, complete and verify assigned blending jobs
- Lead and direct a crew of 2–4 Blenders; coordinate daily blending activities
- Train Blending Team members and monitor work quality
- Set daily blending schedule with Scheduling Supervisor
- Coordinate and communicate with Warehouse Department
- Ensure procedures, preventive maintenance and paperwork accuracy
- Follow written and oral instructions; review and sign all blending orders before and after production
- Match product names, item codes and lot codes correctly; distinguish and segregate ingredients properly
- Serve as backup to Blending Technician as needed
- Meet or exceed daily production goals
- Maintain a sanitary, organized work area; clean before, during, and after each job
- Follow production guidelines, food manufacturing, facility safety rules, and food safety protocols
Requirements for Blending Lead:
- 1+ year experience in a fast-paced production environment
- Ability to read and match long sequences of letters/numbers
- Basic English verbal understanding
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- 2+ years of production and/or leadership experience preferred
- Food safety training; experience with organic/certified food-safe facilities preferred
- Able to lift up to 55lbs repeatedly
- Able to climb stair and ladders
- Able to wear respirator mask
