Position Title: Back End Quality Specialist

Wage: $21.40 - $23.00/hour

Shift: 1st, 2nd or 3rd

Hours: 6:00am - 4:00pm, 4:00pm - 2:00am or 11:00pm - 7:00am

Back End Quality Specialist Responsibilities:
- Tend to one or more automatic sheet stackers, monitor sheet flow, and manage loads, ensuring stacks are stable and properly aligned
- Manually remove decorated sheets from the oven conveyor when needed and place inspected sheets on conveyor platforms
- Monitor sheet flow from the press to prevent misalignment, jams, double sheets, or damage
- Change loads as required and place empty skids into the re-stacker
- Ensure stacks are properly aligned, stable, and prepared for transport
- Operate load turners, strapping machines, and follow appropriate glove protection and safety protocols
- Monitor and adjust oven settings (temperature, airflow, conveyor speed) as directed to maintain proper curing
- Inspect sheets exiting the oven for proper drying, coating adhesion, and surface quality
- Clear jams or misfeeds at the oven exit and restart equipment safely
- Complete routine cleaning
- Perform basic visual quality check
- Use measuring devices specific to printing to verify dimensions and tolerances
- Perform cross-hatch and adhesion testing as required
- Remove and inspect sample sheets; ensure samples are taken out of bundles prior to shipment
- Conduct additional lithography-specific quality tests and checks
- Assist Press Operator with basic press set-up and material preparation
- Prepare skids, labels, and materials for upcoming or changing jobs
- Strap, wrap, and prepare finished loads for shipment or movement to the next department
- Record production, quality, and spoilage data accurately and on time
- Enter data for coverage checks, mispacked bundles, sort plates, and quality tracking
- Maintain accurate counts during job changes, restacks, and rework activities

Requirements for Back End Quality Specialist:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Previous experience performing quality checks, inspections, or verification to standards preferred
- Prior experience operating manufacturing machinery
- Experience in a manufacturing, printing, or production environment is beneficial
- Able to pass a color vision test to confirm color-matching ability
- Basic computer skills required for data entry and documentation
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Excellent attention to detail and reliability in following quality standards
- Consistent and dependable attendance
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs periodically throughout the shift
- Able to stand, walk, and perform repetitive movement required for the duration of a 8-10 hour shift
- Able to work in non-climate-controlled environment
- Excellent attendance
- Good communication skills
