Position Title: Maintenance Technician
Wage: $25-$32/hour
Shift: 3rd
Hours: 10pm-6:30am
QPS Employment Group is hiring a Maintenance Technician for a company in the Milwaukee area. This is a direct hire opportunity.
Maintenance Technician Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Perform electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and/or mechanical troubleshooting and repairs on manufacturing or plant equipment
- Basic shop work that includes welding/metal fabrication
- Ensure the work area is clean, following good housekeeping practices
- Follow and participate in plant safety/housekeeping guidelines
- Adhere to standard safety practices, including wearing personal protective equipment as required
- Read blueprints, understand plumbing, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems
- Follow plant preventative maintenance procedures
- Attend and participate in maintenance department, plant and safety meetings
- Assist in capital improvement projects
- Make repairs in a timely manner, while working under pressure
- Assist other departments with improvement projects
- Data entry and some analysis of Maintenance Management System
- Complete required forms legibly
- Other duties as assigned
Maintenance Technician Requirements:
- 3-5 years of work-related experience in hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and electrical fields
- Experience with basic electrical systems (starters, fuses, contacts, relays)
- Experience with product manuals (reading and applying knowledge to make repairs)
- Experience with schematics (electrical blueprints with switches, starters, maps, and relays)
- Experience with troubleshooting mechanical breakdowns
- Experience with reading mechanical drawings
- Ability to communicate issues while also conveying the solutions as well
- Willing to extend your scheduled shifts in order to receive onsite or offsite training
- Strong technical knowledge of manufacturing environment
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and read blueprints and technical drawings, such as machine, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small groups situations to other employees of the organization
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, geometry, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
- Regularly stand, walk, and talk or hear
- Frequently use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms
- Occasionally sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and taste or smell
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 10lbs, frequently lift and/or move up to 50lbs
- Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration
- Occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic, flammable or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; and extreme heat
- Moderate noise level in the work environment
