Position Title: Production Supervisor – 2nd Shift

Wage: $65,000 - $80,000/year

Shift: 2nd

Hours: 4:40pm – 1:30am (Monday – Friday, Some Saturdays / Overtime)

Production Supervisor Responsibilities:
- Perform daily walks and visual inspections of the production floor in observation of unsafe acts or conditions; take immediate corrective action where necessary
- Maintain safety/environmental self-audits and visual checks
- Champion safety or ergonomic activities for the department and help to develop and meet plant safety goals
- Maintain desired product quality and safety
- Ensure all staff and employees know and understand the Food Safety plan and the Food Quality plan
- Train employees to ensure safe operating procedures are followed, including lock-out and tag-out
- Adhere to product specification requirements throughout the manufacturing process to maintain the desired product quality results
- Maintain adequate knowledge of products and equipment to ensure the ability to direct employees to perform the job properly
- Ensure tasks are completed in accordance with HACCP and USDA regulations; taking corrective action when necessary
- Walk production floor daily and hold monthly line meetings to address questions and concerns
- Maintain or exceed goals on yields and efficiencies
- Work with the Operations Managers and/or Superintendents/Supervisors to maintain knowledge of yields and variances, methods of calculations, typical problem areas and methods for corrections and improvement
- Suggest changes in work flow processes and use of equipment to increase efficiency of the department and/or production crew to maintain the lowest level of downtime and product costs possible
- Trace and analyze key product result measures for improvement opportunities
- Provide leadership and guidance to employees on the Production Floor
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws
- Take part in employee hiring and performance management process which includes interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and assisting in providing appropriate resolutions

Requirements for Production Supervisor:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Business or a related field and 2+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience acting as a lead by providing training, coaching or mentoring to less experienced staff or through managing a process or project
- Knowledge of SAP, Internet, Spreadsheet, Word and Order processing and Inventory software preferred
- Previous food processing and supervisory experience preferred
- Manufacturing knowledge and understanding of yields, plant efficiencies and operations procedures preferred
- Excellent communication skills; bilingual is a plus
- Strong problem solving, math and analytical skills
- Good planning and priority setting skills
- Ability to lead problem solving and troubleshooting efforts associated with high-level process issues
- Ability motivate, train and coach employees to encourage optimum performance and engagement
- Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment
- Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment
- Ability to work in varying hot and cold production environments
- Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed
